Boldness and beauty are instilled in us all. We were all handcrafted by God in His image – a work of art, a perfectly designed canvas. Who am I to criticize that?
When I joined this project, I felt uneasy with the emphasis placed on disability. Illness is a part of my life, and something I experience 24/7. With that, though, I like to take on the idea that I have no limitations. In my mind, when I picture myself, there’s no wheelchair, no tubes, no devices, just me. My goal for the photograph was to simply capture the beauty of having an illness and the freedom to experience life together.
