The diagnosis of multiple sclerosis did not come as a shock to me. I had always known that there was “something different” about me and how my body felt. It was just that no one could answer my questions about it.

Sports and art helped me through so many difficult times. The types of sports and kinds of art I was able to do constantly changed as my body was changing.

When I was asked to try a wheelchair at a skatepark, I was hesitant at first. As soon as I tried a chair in the park, I fell in love with WCMX, and I now get to teach kids my sport as well as compete with others from around the world.

What matters most is how well you walk through the fire.
